Headless commerce
on Medusa.js, [
no sacred cows.]
We build headless storefronts on Medusa.js and Next.js — from experience running stores from the inside, not from docs. Every architecture decision is justified in the P&L.
Where it usually breaks.
Off-the-shelf SaaS is expensive to run and impossible to segment. A custom monolith slows at peak and blocks the roadmap. Either way cost-per-order grows faster than revenue, and the team starts asking for a future-proof alternative.
How we do it differently.
Medusa.js as the open backend, Next.js on the edge, customer data and product events wired for real — not pseudo-tags. We model data for operations, not demos. Monitoring, unit economics and migration paths from day one.
What's in scope.
- Medusa.js data model and custom modules
- Next.js storefront (App Router, ISR, edge)
- B2C/B2B checkout + payment integrations
- ERP / PIM / OMS integration with data contracts
- Admin built around the real team workflow
- Monitoring, alerts and unit economics from launch
Questions clients ask.
[ 01 ]Why Medusa.js over Shopify Plus?
Shopify Plus is great until you need custom logic, a B2B price model, or you'd rather not pay on revenue. Medusa gives you an open backend and your code. We advise honestly — sometimes we recommend staying on Shopify.
[ 02 ]How long does it take?
A Medusa + Next refactor for a DTC brand under €2.5M is usually 8–16 weeks of build after the audit. B2B with ERP — longer. Specifics after the audit, not the call.
[ 03 ]Do you stay after launch?
Yes. The default is build + 6 months of ops or interim Head of E-commerce. Launch is not the finish line.
[ 04 ]Is this only for greenfield projects?
No. We often inherit existing stores, cut over in phases and preserve the SEO/URL contract. The first question is not whether to rebuild, but what has to stay stable.
