Interim VP or Head
of E-commerce [
who owns the KPIs.]
When the store grows faster than the team, we step in as interim or fractional VP / Head of E-commerce. We take responsibility for KPIs, priorities and vendors until the store reaches the agreed scale or you hire someone full-time.
Where the problem starts.
Hiring a full-time Head of E-commerce takes around six months and costs more than many companies want to commit to yet. Without someone holding KPIs and priorities, each vendor works to its own plan, the roadmap turns into a wish list and the board has no report it can rely on.
We take responsibility for delivery.
We work with your team every day and are accountable for the results. We manage the store P&L, prioritise the backlog, manage agencies and vendors and report to the board. Along the way we recruit and onboard a successor.
What's in scope.
- Owning store KPIs and P&L
- Roadmap and backlog prioritisation
- Agency and vendor management
- Operating processes and board reporting
- Hiring and onboarding a successor
Questions clients ask.
[ 01 ]How is this different from consulting?
A consultant writes recommendations. We are accountable for the KPIs and their delivery, and we work with your team every day.
[ 02 ]How much time per week?
It depends on the phase. Usually 1–3 days a week: more during a crisis, less once things are stable. You pay for results and availability, not for a full-time position.
[ 03 ]What happens when you leave?
We leave behind working processes, reporting and, if needed, a successor we have hired and onboarded. The handover is planned from the first day.
[ 04 ]Is this the same as a fractional VP of E-commerce?
In practice, yes. Companies use Head, VP or fractional e-commerce manager for similar roles, so we agree the responsibilities and expected results rather than the title.
